Fly Fishing Waters

One of the most enjoyable surprises for our fly fishermen is the wade ability of our waters. Anglers of any age and skill can comfortably and successfully fish our waters. Your guides are conscientious professional fly fishermen. Our job is to facilitate you having a wonderful experience each and every day.

Whatever your skill level we are there to help as much as you would like. For beginners we welcome the opportunity to successfully tutelage you into the world of Alaska fly fishing. We are the perfect place to learn on a variety of waters and species. There is no better place to learn than at Fishing Bear Lodge where you will catch fish while you are learning. You will be practicing and constantly improving your skills while being able to watch the reaction of the fish, the rise and the take of your fly in perfectly gin clear waters.

We are located right in the heart of Bristol Bay’s Trophy Rainbow Trout area. The outlet river of our home lake is world famous rainbow trout water, the Agulapak River. Rivers in our area have some of the highest concentrations of Rainbow Trout in Alaska. You can consistently catch Rainbow Trout on dry fly. Our specialty is fishing these rivers, enjoying a grilled shoreline dinner and then fishing the river again through the late evening magic hours for big rising Rainbows and Grayling. When you are standing in the river and it “turns on” with big Rainbows sipping dry flies there is no finer fly fishing experience on earth.
